Safeguarding at La Moye

La Moye school gives highest priority to safeguard and promote the welfare of children. All staff endeavour to provide a safe and welcoming environment where children feel respected, valued and nurtured. The school will therefore be alert to signs of abuse and neglect and will follow the Safeguarding Children  Partnership Board's procedures to ensure that children receive appropriate and effective support and protection.

The Safeguarding Team consists of Safeguarding/ Child Protection / Health and Safety Lead and Deputy lead

Designated Safeguarding and Child Protection Lead: Headteacher, Mr. John Baudains
Deputy Safeguarding and Child Protection Lead: Deputy Head, Mrs. N. Rashid
Digital Safeguarding: Mr M. Steigenberger
Health and Safety: Mr M. Steigenberger
Early Help: Mrs. N. Rashid
ELSA: Ms. S. Sheridan
Records Management: Mrs. C Boswell

All staff at La Moye follow the school's Safeguarding Policy and have read the document ' Keeping Children Safe' Part 1.

Parents / carers should know it is the duty of the school staff to pass on information to relevant agencies  which gives rise to a concern about a child’s welfare, including  risk from neglect, physical, emotional or sexual abuse. The staff will seek, in general, to discuss any concerns with the parent/carer, and where possible inform them of the referral to M.A.S.H Tel: 01534-519000.

Schools will seek advice from the Education Department's Safeguarding Officer when they have reasonable cause to suspect a child may be suffering or likely to suffer significant harm. Parents/carers will appreciate that the member of staff in the school with responsibility for Child Protection and Safeguarding has a responsibility to act in accordance with the law and in the best interests of all children.

We take safeguarding of children and staff very seriously. Over the forthcoming weeks, we will be adding more information to this page so that you can see the training and policies in place to support the safety of children and staff.
